A Curious Labyrinth

Mercure Hotel Nottingham City Centre has partnered with Curious Venues to create a wonderful and curious labyrinth of secret bars and treats for all the senses. Four bars under one roof creating an experience you can get lost within. One bar for Vodka lovers, another specialises in cocktails, for all the gin drinkers we have just the tonic or why not hop over for a craft ale.

Curious Tavern Nottingham

Curious Tavern

Situated in Nottingham's oldest hotel which was constructed in 1822, formerly known as "The George" now the Mercure Hotel Nottingham City Centre. The Curious Tavern is part of an establishment steeped in history brought into the 21st century.

Curious Tavern decor reflects a faded opulence of George IV’s renowned style. The design of the venue has been inspired both by historic Georgian architecture combined with 21st century chic. With a touch of Curious Venues we have created a place that hotel guests can meet, work, drink or casually dine and in addition a place to see and be seen.

If great food, cask ales, a fun atmosphere and an unusual setting are what you're looking for, The Curious Tavern will tick all your boxes. With regards to the menu, there's something for everyone. The Curious Tavern specialises in oysters dressed and served in a variety of tantalising ways, such as the English with Hendrick's and cucumber or the Jap, breaded with panko crumb and served with katsu curry sauce. If that doesn't take your fancy, perhaps opt for a burger or why not tuck into a hand-stretched pizza. For the lovers of traditional pub grub, the local game pie or IPA battered cod is a must.

Lost Property Nottingham

Lost Property

A hidden gem waiting to be found. The experience starts with two little questions “are you lost and do you have an appointment” followed by entry past a Lost Property Office (don’t forget your ticket), find the hidden door and enter Lost Property – a secret cocktail bar hidden in Hockley.

The devil is in the details. Unique interior, creative theming and fantastic atmosphere. There are stacks of suitcases, hanging objects and lost keys as well as chest of drawers doorways, a huge pence bar and actual lost but not forgotten property.

To be even more creative Lost Property has a huge secret cocktail menu to tantalise those taste buds as well as expert drink smiths who will mix, shake and stir a cocktail that you won’t leave behind.

The Resistance Nottingham

The Resistance

To hatch a plan and join The Resistance, find a secret location within a secret bar, at the Lost Property Office state your intensions. Follow the coded graffiti on the walls to find the hidden lair behind a row of shelves stacked with dynamite, demolition chargers and chisels.

In the dimly lit 'bunker' plans can be hatched to defeat the enemy come the revolution - or simply plot your plans for a surreptitious night out.

Join your comrades with a manifesto containing more than 60 different varieties of Vodka all stored at -10°C.

To keep Curious, as well as the popular brand Grey Goose, Ciroc and actor Dan Ackroyd's Crystal Head, there are lesser known names such as Distil No 9, a small-batch of Ukrainian wheat vodka and Black Cow, a milk vodka from Dorset, as well as a unique artisan handmade sweet potato number.

Resistance is futile.

Lost Caves Nottingham

Lost Caves

Located beneath the streets of Hockley is a new hidden delight. Apart of the original caves of Nottingham complete with a curious and possibly bloody history has now been transformed into the coolest underground gin bar.

It’s every bit as dark and atmospheric as you’d imagine, with colour-changing lighting, candles, stuffed pheasants and other curios.

Wrap up in a faux fur, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy speciality gin, served in ice-cold frosted glasses and paired with garnishes and aromatic tonics.

Before you can enjoy a gin, you need to find us. Stroll down the old corridors underneath the Mercure Hotel Nottingham City Centre before stumbling upon the entrance to the Lost Cave, watch your head on the giant chandeliers as you make your way down the stairs, even further underground.

All four of the above venues are available for private hire or use. Please Enquire Here for more information and pricing.
