Clean, central, value for money

4 of 5 stars review on TripAdvisor - 11 Feb 2020

We stayed in December 2019 for winter wonderland & this hotel was literally up the road so there location was great. Car park round the corner & you get a discount at reception. We were upgraded to a suite & it was really nice, comfy main bed (the camp bed not so comfy but this is normally the case). We didn’t eat there or use any of the facilities but there was an Irish bar downstairs & we noticed a gym. The room was nice & quiet which was a surprise as I’m usually awoken in hotel by other guests. I would stay here again & I would recommend

Great value and position

5 of 5 stars review on TripAdvisor - 11 Feb 2020

Our daughters bought us a night away with a Smartbox voucher which we used for this stay.
We got a Standard King room, 505, on the top floor at the back of the building which was really quiet.
Lots of comments on general noise and the air con so these are worth covering. In terms of external noise, being at the rear of the building and on the top floor meant a very quiet stay.
It's an old building and quirky. One thing it doesn't allow is a full central heating system so rooms are heated via wall mounted air con units. They hum and whir when cutting in and out. If you're a light sleeper like me but OK with using foam earplugs (supplied) then you'll be fine.
My wife is a solid sleeper and slept really well in the enormous bed (2 large singles joined together)
The room was stylish and quirky with nice quality bedding and pillows. The bathroom was small but clean and fit for purpose. Windows are single glazed, although our room remained warm and had thick black out curtains. I can imagine rooms on lower doors at the front could be susceptible to noise especially at weekends.
We stayed room only as didn't need a big breakfast. There are, though, lots of places within a few minutes for a coffee and a bite to eat.
The hotel is beautifully placed in Lace Market surrounded by great places to eat and drink. You'll never be short of a good cocktail.
There is no parking at the hotel but they have a deal with the 2 nearest multi stories for a good 24hr rate..
Reception were efficient and pleasant.
Had a lovely stay. Terrific value and great location
Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

Good centrally located Hotel

Hotel is nice, well positioned for places to eat and drink, reception helpful, decor quirky, public car park is a 5 minute walk. Room was airy, clean, comfortable and well appointed, bar area nice and relaxing with good service, breakfast was next door and extensive covering most tastes. All round and good spot to stay for a night or two.

Excellent!

5 of 5 stars review on TripAdvisor - 02 Feb 2020

Top location! 2 steps from everywhere! Staff was polite and professional. Room was lovely! Very well decorated, tea and coffee, hairdryer, toiletries... impeccably clean and smelling amazing! Had read reviews on noise ( and ear plugs are provided) but honestly it didn’t affect us at all! Nothing that would prevent us from sleeping and apart from a bit of noise on Saturday night... bear in mind this is in the middle of the Nottingham night life!!! There has to be some!
Breakfast was beautiful, freshly cut fruit, english cooked breakfast, good variety and really polite staff.
Discounted parking. ( we never needed to take car anywhere)
Overall great stay. We will definitely be coming back

Great 1 night stay

5 of 5 stars review on TripAdvisor - 24 Jan 2020

My fiancée and I stayed here on Sunday night to break up a journey from up north back home to down south. We had a smart box voucher to stay at a hotel with dinner included and chose this hotel. We couldn't of been happier with our choice. All of the stay from our initial contact with the hotel emailing Chris the hotel manager in regards to using our voucher through to the meal and checking in and out was fantastic service from all staff. The room far exceeded our expectations. It was clean, spacious, quirky and comfortable. Every detail has been thought of to a high standard. Overall it was a fab stay and we wouldn't hesitate to book again if we are in the area again. Couldn't be happier. Thanks to Chris and all the staff

Hotel full of character in a great location

5 of 5 stars review on TripAdvisor - 09 Jan 2020

We booked two rooms for 5 of us, they were both clean and extremely comfortable. The privilege king room was spacious, quirky and comfortably fitted an additional bed for our son. The location is ideal for shopping, nights out, the lace market and we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was inside the room given the location and busy it was outside (we stayed over Christmas holidays).

Beautiful hotel super friendly staff

Stayed here for one night following a Jack Whitehall show, and we were really impressed by the hotel. It was clean, stylish and in the perfect location. Although I had requested an early check in when we got there the room wasn’t ready. However I should have probably checked this myself !! Sophia and Antonio who worked on reception were sooo helpful and nice! Couldn’t do enough for us. definitely will be staying there again and would recommend it to everyone !

The hotel itself was lovely and very clean, the bed was extremely comfy also! We loved the decor of the place very cute and quirky and the staff were extremely friendly and willing to help us with all our needs! I would definitely recommend this place and we will 100% be returning in the future we really enjoyed our stay! Also thank you to Antonio & Sofia for looking after our luggage :)

Well located, very pleasant stay

4 of 5 stars review on TripAdvisor - 06 Jan 2020

We stayed for 1 night mid-week at Mercure Nottingham City Centre Hotel. The hotel was well located and there was nearby parking at a secure public car park. The hotel staff were very pleasant and we had been upgraded to a king room which was lovely. The room was stylishly decorated and seemed quite newly done up, although the bathroom could have done with a bit of a spruce up in comparison. Breakfast was lovely and had a wide range of choice considering it was in quite a small area. The hotel lobby, reception area and grand staircase were lovely and the building is very historic. I would be happy to recommend and would return to stay again in the future.
