Great Hotel in the centre of Nottingham
Great location in the centre of Nottingham, ideal for the Motorpoint Arena ( which we had tickets for) theatres and shops etc. The George Hotel does not have any parking spaces but there are several car parks in the Lace Market area within a few minutes walk. The rooms are all quirky but interesting and so different from the white characterless rooms of traditional hotels. The breakfast is buffet style with great choices. The staff are all helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Peter and Bruno who welcomed us on arrival.
Brilliant place to stay
Bed was very comfy, breakfast is great and also perfect location for a night out in the city centre

Great Stay
Have stayed here a couple of times now but on this occasion we booked the George suite and what a great room it is, all of the staff are very friendly and helpful from reception to dining room. Great bar inside the hotel which is very quirky but had a good selection of drinks. It can be a little noisy at night but this is only to be expected due to its location
Amazing, hostel-like laid back feel but professsional hotel
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and upgraded our room to the penthouse suite for no extra charge (we didn't ask to be upgraded they just thought we'd like it) and we did! The room had a Bluetooth device with speakers in each room including the bathroom! The breakfast was a hit and continental buffet and incredibly delicious! Smack bang amongst some great restaurants and record shops, 5 min walk from the hustle and bustle of the city centre!
Great room and staff!
I requested red wine and a birthday ballon as it was my Mrs birthday; not only did they sort this no problem; they also managed to upgrade our room which was absolutely delightful! The room was spacious; came with all the necessities that you would expect including a few free soft drinks in the fridge. The decor was very tasteful and pleasant and the bed was comfy too. The breakfast that was included was really nice also, ranging from difference cereals/fruits and yogurt, to a buffet style English breakfast (including hash browns!) The staff were all friendly, polite and chatty and answered all and any questions we had. Attached to the hotel is a lovely little tavern which was great for a little drink before heading out for the evening. I would happily stay here again!
Amazing hotel and staff
Great stay at the Mercure Nottingham. The hotel is right in the center of town. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. Thank you so much to Bruno and William who helped me with a complex booking and answered all my questions.
Excellent location
We always try to stay here as it is located in the heart of the city, friendly and clean. Breakfast is very good although we didn't have it on this trip. It is a pity that Nottingham City Council have stopped subsidising the local car park when staying at any hotel as we have to drive to get to the city.
What’s not to love!
Love this hotel! Such a great city centre hotel with really interesting decor and amazing staff. We were lucky enough to stay in room 503 which is huge and has a separate living area. There was a little noise from outside but it was a lively night in Nottingham so to be expected. Really hoping to come back and spend more time here! 😁

I couldn't be any happier with our stay! From the moment we got there, till the moment we checked out.. Staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming. I was hesitant and anxious to go to a different city alone with my daughter, who is only 5, but we were made to feel so welcome, and we fell in love with the hotel. Not to mention the friendly staff, delicious breakfast, fabulous location, and gorgeous room. We were able to visit so many different places without even bothering to use any transport. Honestly, I could go on.. Thank you for having us in your luxurious suite. :)
