Birthday night away
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The suite was quirky and fun and very comfortable and quiet. The hotel is steeped in history which they managed to incorporate with modern amenities such as Alexa and espresso coffee machines. Good location for independent bars and restaurants.

Lovely hotel
Lovely, clean hotel and the staff are so friendly and helpful bringing extra pillows and duvet! Pubs, clubs, shops and Motorpoint arena all in walking distance. Was a great stay and will be happy to stay again!

Couldn’t find a fault.
We originally booked a standard double room for 1 night for after attending a wedding reception down the road. When we arrived the Staff were very friendly and we were told that we’d been upgraded to a deluxe room. Which was a lovely surprise. The room was fantastic. Large, clean, nice sized bathroom with large containers of body wash, shampoo and conditioner. I did get a little warm during the night and found I struggled to open the window BUT noticed there was air conditioning which was easy to use and worked perfectly. The bed was very large and comfortable. There was a nespresso machine and pods in place of the usual kettle set up but there was also a regular kettle, tea, coffee etc in a cupboard along side an ironing board and iron. There were also instructions left on how to use the provided Alexa device should you need anything from reception - no need to call down or go down to reception if you don’t want to (request to extend your stay, request anything you might need, late check out etc etc) I thought it was a great touch. The TV was in full working order and large. We also were provided with a fridge full of complementary soft drinks. Although the room looked right out onto a busy street (as is expected due to location) it was very peaceful and quiet inside the room. They did provide earbuds next to the bed but they wernt needed on this occasion. The room was decorated very nicely. Heated towel rail in the bathroom. All in all I wish we were able to extend our stay for another night or two. Again the next morning during checkout the Staff were lovely. For the price it was a real gem of a stay for us and we so appreciated the unexpected upgrade. Thank you to the Staff who tended to us and we’re looking forward to coming again whenever we need to stay in Nottingham over night.
Great visit
We stayed at the Mercury for just one night as we were attending the Motorpoint that evening. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the Motorpoint and to a car park. Being offered the opportunity to check in online was appreciated along with the good level of correspondence received containing useful information. The staff were professional, friendly and efficient and I was offered an upgrade upon arrival. Our room was quiet, large and clean, with a large well stocked bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast had a good selection, staff were efficient and food arrived quickly. Definitely would stay again, and I easily recommend The Mercury.
